What Came Out of My Season of Singlehood

Posted by Unknown with No comments
In the past, I set out on endeavors which I think will lead me to an esteemed lifestyle and status that will match up to that of my then-boyfriends. In my great desire to fit in and be loved, I changed who I am to please them. I reshaped my identity thinking that it will make me become the person I thought others would want to be with. But in the end, all of these stripped me down to a broken and disfigured piece of nothing, with no real idea on who she is and what she wants to be.

Which is why after 3 failed relationships, I finally decided to stop the endless cycle of going into half-baked partnerships that will most likely bring me down and destroy me. Instead, I set out to conquer my dreams and goals—independently and with no boyfriend in tow.

A Shoutout to Single Girls

Posted by Unknown with No comments

How can things be so unfair? When a guy is single, available, and all over the place; he’s coined as a bachelor. The type of guy who would be difficult for ladies to snag because he’d always be unpredictable, unattainable, and infamous. He is the man that every girl would chase for, simply because, he's the one that all the other girls want.

On the other hand, when a girl is single— she'd most likely be referred to/seen as the “unwanted” one-- the average type whose looks can make guys look or glance her way, but would still come short in making them want to have a relationship with her. See the disparity?

Oh Lurrrve… Why Are You Such A Hassle?

So, here I am, 5 months after another ended relationship. (FYI: I have moved on, my friends are the ones who haven’t. LOL!)

I have forgotten how many times I’ve cursed love and romance and all those sappy things— only to end up in it again.

Maybe it is because I feel so loved and not to have anyone to share it with, makes everything less worthwhile? I mean, I love everyone— their quirks, idiosyncrasies, weirdness, habits, and all; for me, it is what makes existence in this world more… fun and unique! However, I could not just give my love to everyone, the way I do to a boyfriend, else, I’d end up looking like a modern-day Mother Teresa or Gandhi or…. an uber-hyper girl on dope. O___o

However, I always end up with someone who.. do not know me. Maybe they know me… a bit… but not really know, know me on a much deeper level. It is not that we do not jive, it’s that they could not understand the reason behind the things I do.

The values I keep. The dreams I nurture. The passions I have.

Finding Pleasure in Loneliness

Posted by Unknown with 3 comments
It’s grueling to play the role of an independent gal, when a part of me tells me that I long to be with somebody. It is arduous to be this go-to person who’d be all too-willing to talk about the perks of being single to my single friends and teaching them tips on how to make single-hood (or single-blessedness) all worth it; when I know so well that I would rather be not single....

Alright. to make things clear: I love having someone around. Not just anybody, but SOMEBODY

Not just anyone, but THE ONE.

My Kind of Guy

Posted by Unknown with 1 comment
Charmingly innocent.
Sensitive with a dash of naughtiness.
My kind of guy isn't that hard to find.

It wouldn't matter whether he's lanky or awkward like a panda or penguin, as long as he has arms to cup me up at times when I feel down. Plus, it would be great if he has chipmunk-y cheeks.
